- Agent B is actually who it claims to be (identity verification)

- The message hasn't been tampered with (integrity)
How AgentTrust.ai Solves This
AgentTrust introduces a three-step verification protocol:
1. Issue
When an agent needs to prove its identity, it requests a time-limited verification code from the AgentTrust.ai API. This code is cryptographically bound to the agent's identity, organization, and a specific interaction context.
2. Verify
The receiving agent (or human) can verify this code through the AgentTrust API, confirming the issuer's identity, organization, and the interaction's metadata — all without needing direct access to the issuer's credentials.
3. Guard
Before processing any input, agents can use the Guard API to check for prompt injection attacks, ensuring that the content they're about to process hasn't been crafted to manipulate their behavior.
The Role of Prompt Injection Defense
One of the most significant threats to autonomous AI agents is prompt injection — where malicious content is crafted to override an agent's instructions.
AgentTrust's InjectionGuard API provides multi-layered defense:
- Pattern matching against known injection techniques
- Heuristic analysis of suspicious content structures
- LLM-based evaluation for sophisticated attacks
- Configurable sensitivity based on your risk tolerance
